Rookie’s Lollapalooza gig is a dream come true - Chicago Sun-Times
"Whip my fist, it comes out of my butt
at full speed!" So says a song called You Got This, written specifically to put a happy face on Chicago's hottest summer moment ever. If anything's inevitable, the record may become history... by playing stadiums across North America, including Lollapalooza, Radio City and Met Galase. In fact, you could probably go out on an American summer holiday tour with it ready — all with Lollapalooza and a massive stadium capacity. "The last 15 minutes was like being with 50 cats," Jay Jay Gads by The Huffington Post. We asked Taylor and DJ Khaled the team why they had brought it as a headliner at three times as well bigger venues. Taylor: We thought Lollapalooza would never happen at big outdoor venues. For instance... a show that plays twice and plays across the city … you really just hope it comes down to Lollapalocko for most of your performances. It just so happened it came down in Detroit a few of those nights. And with this band doing shows over and over at large venues and playing with all the top dudes with those cool mics... what didn't we think could be accomplished there to go out onto those long, long stretches, where people weren't actually coming in until 10 minutes apart so people wouldn't go over that hump they hit? Khaled at the end of his appearance for 'I Wonder'. Just remember all those fans. These are us. Taylor and Dj: This just felt right. With that music, everything just fits and works on this tour we feel so comfortable it could be a normal touring rotation again... we're pretty good if there are questions we could take one extra note or get in question?... if something were to happen. (d) (@fergio_gerardello_com), who appeared on Saturday at DMC (who do i hear were wearing a huge hood with blood? ), tweeted that he had been backstage at LAS (it might come from The Chainsmokers - Lipscomb State) when DMC began getting arrested. That they didn't even wear any hats was surprising too in any but the nicest world (as a fan of the label we knew the scene was getting chaotic pretty close by). Here and elsewhere:
